No. 45. The mating call of the Bullfrog, Rana catesbe- iana, with Cricket Frogs, Acris g. gryllus, in the back- ground. Recorded 1.5 miles southeast of Swainsboro, Georgia, on the evening of May 18, 1954. Bullfrogs pro- duce the same sort of call after the mating season is past, suggesting that the same call may serve as a “ter- ritoriality call.” This remains to be investigated, but when Bullfrogs are introduced into isolated ponds they space themselves at varying distances, seemingly with each frog at approximately the same place night after night.

I saw these guys perform tracks from/related to this record at the Hirschhorn museum and it was one of the most entertaining things I’ve ever experienced. What a fun record. petnoodle

wow. The Kepler track from this album opens the 1977 Voyager disc, currently navigating interstellar space beyond our solar system at ten miles per second. .
